I love decorating with flowers at home. But fresh flowers are not always an option. Although artificial flowers look nice and pretty all year around, sometimes they can be expensive. Learn a new way to use your napkins and create pretty paper flowers.
In this tutorial I’m using the pom-pom technique, that I’m sure almost everyone has heard of it already 🙂 But if you haven’t here it is – it’s simple, you don’t need a lot of materials and the end result is kind of impressive 🙂
What you need to make these paper flowers:
- Different colors napkins
- Green straw for the stem
My napkins are 3 layered. I divided all of the layers and used 2 layers of green, 3 of pink and 1 of orange.
Then I folded them accordion style like this:
With the scissors I rounded the ends to form the petals:
Then with the stapler I attached the straw directly in the center of the folded napkins:
Now it’s the time for unfolding all of the napkin layers. This can take a while, if your flower has a lot of layers 🙂 And don’t worry if some of the petals tear apart – this won’t be so visible at the end.
The green straw imitates really well a flower stem and also makes it easier and stable to put in a vase.
I made a lot of these paper flowers so I can gather them in a nice spring bouquet. It makes colorful and fresh home decor. I really like the combination of pastel green an pink.
